I hate websites that are chock full of ads. Especially ones that have those annoying popups at every page.

The solution? This: http://offbyone.com/offbyone/

Off By One is a browser which ONLY runs HTML and PHP scripts. It doesn't run Java, Flash, Perl, ASP, or anything else. Sound inconvenient? Not to those wanting to dodge ads, spyware, or even viruses.

A perfect example of how to use this would be WiiSO.com, which I go for all my homebrew needs for the Wii. Downside? Unless you pay to have the ads removed, you'll get tons of popups, and some of the ads actually interfere with browsing the site (Pages refuse to load). However, loading this site using OB1 grants you full access without the hassle.

until you run into websites that require a successful return 1 from the java before the rest of the page loads

Or you could just use Firefox and run AdBlock+ and NoScript.
